FLIGHT TICKET AND MEETING AT THE AIRPORT
The flight tickets will be handed over along with the trip documents. At the Italian airport it is not foreseen any assistance; we recommend travellers to chek-in 2 and a half hours before the flight departure in order to avoid possible overbooking problems.
The flight connections between Dubai/Port Sudan/Dubai are operated by FlyDubai airline; please note that flights schedule might change after the time of reservation.
The check in at the airport for flights with FlyDubai is 3 hours before departure time.
If you miss your flight due to late arrival/chek-in at the airport, you are not entitled to compensation.
CONFIRMATION OF THE FLIGHT AT DEPARTURE
All changes in flight schedule will be communicated immediately. It is always better to contact us 48 hours before departure in order to re-confirm the flights schedule.
The return flight schedule will be confirmed by our local staff.
AT THE ARRIVAL IN PORT SUDAN
Our staff will welcome you at the airport in Port Sudan and will provide you with the entry visa as well as the transfers to the port of embarkment.
All the services booked and paid are listed on the vouchers in your hands. It is important to keep them with you in order to speed up the service deliveries.
DOCUMENTS AND VACCINATIONS
Your passport should have at least six months validity remaining beyond the period of intended stay. The passport should not have any Israeli visa. The entry visa will be applied directly at the arrival in Sudan by our local staff and the cost is 65 Euro.
For the Italian citizens no entry visa is requested to enter the United Arab Emirates (Dubai).
No vaccinations are recommended to travellers going on the Red Sea coast (Port Sudan) and on liveaboard cruises.
TOURISM BED TAXES
Tourism Bed Taxes in Sudan are 200 Euro to be paid directly on board in cash.
For a 2-weeks journey the amount is 245 Euro.
We remind you that all taxes can be modified, newly introduced or cancelled at any moment by the local Authorities and the traveller should pay the relevant amount accordingly.
Baggage allowance with Emirates is 30 kg, while between 20 and 23 kg with other airlines. Payments for overdue weight are to be settled directly at the airport.
In Sudan the GSM network works in Port Sudan area mainly; while there is no connection at sea. Our boat is equipped with a satellite phone.
In Port Sudan there are some Internet Café to connect to the web for about 3USD for 30 minutes.

In Dubai mobile phones work almost all over, but it is always better to ask your mobile network provider before leaving.
Sudan is +2 hours to Italy (UTC +3:00). If 12:00 in Italy, then 14:00 in Sudan.

You can change in local currencies in banks or at the hotels. The local currency is the Sudanese Pound. It is recommended to bring USD in banknotes issued after year 2000 and in small bills. On board Euro are also accepted.
Voltage in hotels and on our boats is 220 Volts. Plugs are the same as used in Italy. On board there is a recharge area at 220V for batteries and flash.
SUDAN IS AN ISLAMIC COUNTRY
It is strictly forbidden to import alcoholic beverage and pornografic material in Sudan.
It is not allowed to dress short, scanty or low-cut dresses or shorts during the transfers from and to the airport, in the cities and in the portual area. We recommend our guests to respect the local rules.
The official local language is Arabic, but English is spoken all over. On board we speak Italian.
All dives will follow the world’s scuba diver training organizations’ rules. On board oxygen kits/ providers are provided. All dives are done with a guide and assistance at the surface.
PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
In Sudan it is strictly forbidden to take pictures or videos at the airports, at the ports and at military bases. We suggest our guests to take photos and videos only during the liveaboard cruise.
CLIMATE AND CLOTHING
The climate in Sudan at the Red Sea is very hot and humid through the months of June-September. Between October and May it is more temperate and dry. Very casual and comfort dress code on board: for the winter period we recommend a jacket and a casual wear in case of wind. We suggest using soft luggages for a better stowage on board.
Leaving from Port Sudan it is possible to visit the town of Suakin (60 km south of Port Sudan). The trip can be organized locally with the boat’s captain. The cost of the excursion is to be settled locally.
In Port Sudan and in Suakin it is possible to buy local handicraft at the local markets.
Spices are available at the central market in Port Sudan.
FOOD AND DRINKS
On board the food is delicious and offers a wide choice. In case of special needs, please let us know in advance.
It is common practice to leave tips in restaurants and on board.
